The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze congratulates Zaur Dvalashvili, a third-year student of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, a member of the Georgian national judo team, and European champion, on taking third place at the Tbilisi Grand Slam and winning a bronze medal.
As David Gurgenidze notes, Zaur Dvalashvili demonstrates with his achievements that education and sport are not only compatible but also contribute to strengthening each other.
Studying and deepening knowledge shapes a person, giving them analytical thinking, determination, and spiritual strength, which also plays a major role in sports success. In turn, great sports instill responsibility and hard work, which are the most important qualities for a student.
“It is a great honor to congratulate Zaur Dvalashvili on his third place and bronze medal at the Tbilisi Grand Slam. His next success confirms that deepening knowledge and sportsmanship are in complete harmony. Zaur’s determination and willingness are exemplary for students and a source of pride for the university community.
Victory is not just a sporting triumph, it is a serious path that requires personal strength, spiritual strength, and constant self-development. The success achieved by Zauri emphasizes the great work and dedication that should serve as a motivation and example for young people.
The Georgian Technical University always attaches great importance to the interdependence of education and sports, promoting the full development of students and passing on to them the values that will bring great success in the future. Zaur Dvalashvili is a clear example of this. I am proud that our students prove their abilities not only in academics but also in the sports arena and further elevate the name of the country. I wish Zaur that this victory will become for him a continuation of the path to success and the basis for even greater achievements,” – is stated in Academician David Gurgenidze’s congratulatory message.
