An exhibition of works by first-year students of the Bachelor of Architecture program of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design - “Volumetric Spatial Composition” - was opened at the Georgian Technical University.
The exhibition, which brought together spatial compositions created by more than 100 students, was hosted by the University Gallery “Universe”.
As the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Nugzar Khvedeliani noted, the exhibition was organized within the framework of the architectural composition course, and the best student works were selected for the exposition based on an intra-faculty competition.
“Spatial composition is the essence of architecture. It is a thoughtful arrangement of volumes, forms, and spaces to create harmony and aesthetic value. Any structure, starting from the simplest residential building and ending with the most complex urban landscape, is a product of spatial composition. It determines how we feel and interact with the environment and affects our emotions, behaviors, and even cultural identity.
Today’s exhibition is important insofar as the works of the first-year students reflect their knowledge. Each work shows how the student manages to balance the elements, how he/she manipulates light and shadow, and how he/she transforms abstract ideas into real forms. This is our mission as teachers, and it is gratifying for us that the students are successfully developing creative thinking,” the Dean says.
The Dean thanked the students participating in the exhibition, their teachers, professors, and the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Tamar Chanturia, for achieving the desired creative result and organizing the event.
As Deputy Dean, Professor Tamar Chanturia stated at the event opening, the student exhibition, which the faculty holds annually, promotes cooperation between future architects, professors, and industry representatives.
“The exhibition of student works allows us to share our views and receive constructive feedback. Thus, it is an important bridge between the academic world and practical activities. Today, when you view the students’ works, I urge you to admire the exposition and think about the deeper meaning of spatial composition.
Consider how these projects express ideas, evoke emotions, and interact with the environment. We congratulate the first-year students on taking the first important step towards an architectural career. I don’t doubt that knowledge will bring great success to young people shortly. Thank you to the guests for coming - today we are together appreciating the creativity, innovation, and boundless possibilities of future architects. Good luck!”, Tamar Chanturia noted in her speech.
The exhibition of students of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design at the Gallery “Universe” - "Volumetric Spatial Composition" will close on March 30th of this year. The university exhibition space is open to any visitor.
