Statement of the Council of the Faculty of Energy of the Georgian Technical University on the appointment of an election for the position of Head of the Faculty’s Quality Assurance Service.
In accordance with the Article 25 of the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, Article 22 of the University Regulations approved by Order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia No. 133/n of September 9th, 2013 “On Approval of the Charter of the Legal Entity of Public Law - Georgian Technical University”, Paragraphs 10 and 11, Articles 27 and 28 of Article 2 of the Regulation “On Conducting Elections of the Governing Bodies (Governing Entities) of the Georgian Technical University and the Faculty”, based on the decision taken at the meeting of the Council of the Faculty of Energy of the University on February 14, 2025 (Minutes of the Meeting No. 4):
1. Elections to fill the position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty of Energy will be held on March 11th, 2025.
2. The Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty will be elected by the Faculty Council for 4 years.
3. The position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty may hold a person who meets the following requirements:
a) is a professor or associate professor of the faculty;
b) has at least 5 years of work experience.
c) The candidate is required to:
- Knowledge of quality assurance standards and guidelines developed by the European Association for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area;
- Knowledge of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation standards and procedures;
- Knowledge of the state language (knowledge of a foreign language is desirable);
- Knowledge of quality management principles in the field of education;
- Knowledge of computer programs - MS Office;
- Sociability, teamwork skills.
Knowledge of the following legal acts:
- Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”;
- Law of Georgia “On Development of the Quality of Education”;
- Law of Georgia “On Professional Education”.
- Resolution of the Government of Georgia No. 18 of January 30th, 2015 “On determining the rules and conditions for granting qualifications to students upon completion of higher education programs implemented in cooperation between a higher education institution of Georgia and San Diego State University, different from those established by the legislation of Georgia for issuing and recognizing documents confirming qualifications”;
- “On Approval of the Regulations on Accreditation of Educational Programs of Educational Institutions and Fees” Order No. 65/n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated May 4, 2011;

4. Candidates must apply and attach documents from February 24th to March 4th, 2025 to the Faculty Election Commission, address: Tbilisi, Kostava 75, GTU Building 8, 3rd floor, room №314. Applications are accepted from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, except weekends and holidays.
5. The application must be accompanied by:
a) a copy of an identity document (ID card, passport);
b) a certificate of the academic position held at the relevant faculty of The Technical University;
c) information on education, work experience, academic degree;
d) an action plan;
e) documents confirming the candidate’s compliance with the requirements set forth.
6. The Academic Council, by a qualified majority (2/3) of votes, by secret ballot, individually decides on the issue of participation in the competition for an administrative position by a person aged 65 and over. A person of this age must additionally submit the consent of the Academic Council to the Faculty Election Commission. For this purpose, he/she must submit an application to the University Administrative Department by February 27th, 2025. The person’s presence at the Academic Council during his/her issue consideration is mandatory, otherwise the topic will not be considered.
7. The public presentation of the action plan by the candidates to the Faculty Council will be scheduled for March 10th, 2025.
