The first stage of one of the most successful projects at the Georgian Technical University - “Student for Student”, has been completed.
The project is implemented by the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University and includes a course of lectures. In particular, master’s and doctoral students will deliver lectures to bachelor’s students.
According to Professor Taliko Zhvania, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of GTU, the university is implementing several important projects during the academic year to increase student involvement and motivation in the learning process, among which “Student for Student” is one of the most prominent.
“The project “Student for Student” has been running for one year, within the framework of which five lectures were held. According to the faculty specifics, the cycle of lectures that master’s and doctoral students conduct for bachelor students includes information processing using computing machines (computers), computer architecture, artificial intelligence, and other recent issues. It is gratifying that the project has aroused great interest among students. For second and third-level students, the project is an opportunity to accumulate experience. More communication, education, and discussion, comprehensive answers to questions, searching for the new, recycling the old - this is the result we are striving for. I wish the project participants success,” said the dean.
Within the project framework – “Student for Student”, student Rafael Kalandadze held seminars for artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering clubs in machine learning and data analysis.
Also, within the framework of his master’s thesis, he presented a report – “Generative Artificial Intelligence for Low-Resource Languages”, the author made a presentation on the creation of the first Georgian language model, which works best for the Georgian language.
Doctoral student Alexi Kobaidze gave a lecture – “Lidar Sensor and Artificial Intelligence”. Levan Babukhadiya delivered a lecture on “Artificial Intelligence and Its Future Risks”, and Giorgi Gelashvili - “Modern Trends and Fundamentals of Computer Architecture Development”.
