GTU Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, and the Chairman of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (GCCA), Irakli Lekvinadze, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the university and the agency.

The cooperation document was signed within the framework of the III International Conference on Competition and Consumer Protection. 

The three-day international conference, which aimed to strengthen competition policy in Georgia and improve consumer protection mechanisms, was organized by the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, the National Bank, the National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, the State Insurance Supervision Service, and the Communications Commission.

The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency of Georgia.

The document envisages deepening cooperation between the parties, implementing joint measures related to competition, consumer protection, and anti-dumping policy, training qualified personnel and jointly developing various research and educational projects.

According to the statement of the GTU rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the collaboration between the Georgian Technical University and the Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, is based on the principles of understanding and respect, with the participation of international partner organizations, will have a positive impact on the professional development of students.

“According to the memorandum, the Georgian Technical University will provide the agency with the necessary, highly rated, and motivated future specialists, and the university and the agency, within the framework of their powers, will share relevant information with interested parties with maximum transparency.

In addition, the memorandum is a kind of guarantee for inventors and researchers in terms of protecting their activities and the results obtained. The parties fulfill their obligation to jointly implement various scientific and cognitive projects that will contribute to the student’s career growth,” said David Gurgenidze.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Georgian Technical University and the Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency will be valid for two years.

The parties may extend the validity of the document by mutual agreement.
