The Day of the Vladimir Chavchanidze Cybernetics Research Institute and the Institute “Talgha” was celebrated at the Georgian Technical University.
The Speaker of the Representative Council (Senate) of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Zaza Sopromadze opened the event dedicated to the Day of the two scientific and research institutes.
As Zaza Sopromadze stated, the Scientific-Research Institute of Cybernetics was founded 64 years ago. During the formation process representatives of various fields of Georgian science and technology - mathematicians, physicists, biologists, chemists, and physicians - united in the institute, and made a noticeable contribution to the institute’s development into a powerful scientific center.
According to Zaza Sopromadze, the Scientific Research Institute “Talgha” was founded 42 years ago, and scientific research activities are multifaceted.
The first direction of the institute is considered to be the study of magnetic relaxation of strongly anisotropic materials in a paramagnetic state, in conditions of zero and weak permanent magnetic fields.
The second topic is the study of the physical, mechanical, chemical, and biological properties of some alloys (materials doped with various substances) for their further use in the human body.
The third is the study and assessment of the radioecological state of the urban environment, theoretical and experimental research.
“The day of two important scientific research institutes is celebrated for the third time at the Georgian Technical University. Once a year, scientists share the results of their research and information about successes and achievements. Since their establishment, many promising scientists have been raised in these two scientific research institutes.
It is gratifying that today the traced path of Vladimir Chavchanidze and other scientists is worthily continued by their educated scientists, who in turn educate young researchers. Under the leadership of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the Georgian Technical University is doing everything, and in the future will continue to attract more young scientists who will make our country and the university famous. I wish you success,” Zaza Sopromadze noted in his welcoming speech.
At the end of the event, the Speaker of the Georgian Technical University Senate and the guests toured the laboratories of the Scientific Research Institute of Cybernetics and the GTU Institute “Talga”. The Institute of Cybernetics and “Talga” are located in the same space.
The Director of the Institute “Talga”, Chief Research Fellow - Professor Medea Burjanadze, and the Director of the Vladimir Chavchanidze Scientific Research Institute of Cybernetics - Professor Tamaz Sulaberidze thanked the Rector of the Georgian Technical University and members of the administration for their support and cooperation.
