Students of the faculties of Construction, Power Engineering, Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, as well as Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering of the Georgian Technical University, met Giorgi Guraspashvili, the manager of the cement plant company “Honeywell Cement” (Heidelberg Cement), Charita Chavleishvili, the company's recruiting and talent attraction manager, and Teona Robakidze, the manager of
quality and research development.
The company’s representatives “Honeywell Cement” provided the students with information about the specifics of their organizations, priority business areas, basic technical needs, short and long-term internships, future employment prospects, mentoring system, training mechanisms, and career development.
In addition, they discussed active vacancies in detail and introduced them to the real possibility of employment in the offered positions.
According to associate professor Nato Katamadze, the head of the GTU career development department of the educational process management service, to promote the career development of students, the Georgian Technical University actively continues to organize a cycle of interactive meetings of students with employers - companies of various profiles operating in Georgia, for the purpose of internships, as well as future employment.
“Students’ employment in the company will be possible after the internship. Those students who demonstrate their skills and knowledge to the maximum level will be successfully employed at “Honeywell Cement” and will be given the opportunity for career development in the future.
The main goal of the university is to constantly collaborate with the employer, to meet students, to facilitate the employment process for young people, and most importantly, to be a bridge between the young generation and the employer, so that the students feel the university’s strong support and care for their career development. The employer can see that as a result of the active collaboration with the university, it will be much easier to find young qualified staff,” said Nato Katamadze.
At the meeting, the company representative - Teona Robakidze, said: “We think that our employment program will be very interesting for you. Our training program goals are to attract, interest, and develop you as a manager of one of the areas who is motivated, versatile, and interested in the given field.
“Honeywell Cement” offered students a total of 13 vacancies in the production direction: shift supervisor, technologist, electrician, mechanic, logistics, and factory manager assistant.
