Vice-rectors of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Lominadze, and Professor Tamar Tsereteli met with the delegation of the China Northwestern Polytechnical University.
The introductory meeting was attended by the deputy Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems - Professor Lili Petriashvili; Davit Bostanashvili - Associate Professor of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design, and Professor Gocha Mikiashvili - Deputy Dean of the International School of Design. Also, professors of Northwest Polytechnic University: Jie Kong, Qingjiang Zheng, and Zhaowen Liu.
The event was opened by the vice-rector of the Georgian Technical University. As Professor Tamar Lominadze announced, the meeting with the North-West Polytechnic University delegation is focused on strengthening bilateral relations.
“Northwestern Polytechnic University is a multidisciplinary and research-oriented university that equally develops education and research programs in Aeronautics and Marine Technological Engineering.
On the other hand, the Georgian Technical University is one of the successful Engineering and Humanitarian higher schools, where the teaching-learning and research process is conducted according to European standards.
Together with the Chinese colleagues, we reviewed the possibilities of deepening the existing relations between the two universities and set plans for future cooperation. I am sure that the existing scientific ties between us and our Chinese colleagues and the friendship that connects the Georgian Technical University and many Chinese universities will move to a new level, which implies new plans, new scientific achievements, new contacts, and exchange programs of students and academic staff”, - said Tamar Lominadze.
According to Tamar Tsereteli, vice-rector of the Georgian Technical University, it is planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities shortly.
“For the Georgian Technical University, it is important that our scientists and researchers, together with their Chinese colleagues, work in the direction of joint implementation of innovations. We are sure that the collaboration in education and science will bring positive results to both the GTU and the North-West Polytechnic University and make the relations between Georgia and China much more versatile”, said Tamar Tsereteli.
Within the framework of the visit, the representatives of the North-West Polytechnic University visited the laboratories of the Georgian Technical University.
