After the Georgian Technical University, the International Hegel Congress Will Be Held at the University of Roma Tre in Italy
Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, informed the public gathered at the closing ceremony of the 35th International Hegel Congress of the International Hegel Society Scientific Council decision, according to which the next, 36th International Hegel Congress will be held in Italy.

At the closing ceremony of the prestigious scientific forum, academician David Gurgenidze handed over the symbolic scroll confirming the hosting of the 36th Hegel International Congress to Professor Francesca Ianelli, representative of the University of Rome Tres (Italy).

Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, scientists and researchers participating in the congress, and other guests attended the closing event of the 35th Hegel International Congress at the Georgian Technical University. More than 300 papers were discussed at the international congress, attended by 250 prominent scientists of the International Hegel Society and classical German philosophy worldwide, the Georgian Technical University, and leading European universities.

The Rector of the Georgian Technical University thanked the scientists and researchers participating in the Congress, the International Hegel Society, the President of the International Hegel Society - Professor Miriam Gerhard of the Karl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, and the Honorary President of the International Hegel Society - Professor Andreas Arndt of the Berlin Humboldt University, the Honorary Member of the International Hegel Society, Professor of Chamber Music at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Visiting Professor at the Iceland Academy of the Arts (Reykjavik, Iceland) - Professor Vladimir Stoupel, guests and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences of GTU, Professor Ivane Jagodnishvili, and Professor Mamuka Beriashvili.

As academician David Gurgenidze said, the congress dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the International Hegel Society was held for the first time in the post-Soviet space, in Georgia, and at the Georgian Technical University. According to the rector, within the framework of the scientific forum, aspects of Hegel’s philosophy related to the theory of the state, the philosophy of subjectivity, the philosophy of religion and law, and the theory of recognition were discussed, which are somewhat represented in important modern social theories, and their famous authors were the main speakers of the congress.
“The International Hegel Congress, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the society, ended at the Georgian Technical University. I would like to thank my colleagues and scientists, who discussed fascinating issues during the congress. I would like to thank the former Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia - Giorgi Amilakhvari, and the former Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia - Thea Tsulukiani.

Within the framework of the international congress, the Georgian Technical University awarded the title of honorary doctorate to the president of the International Hegel Society, Professor Miriam Gerhard of the University of Oldenburg, Karl von Ossietzky, and the honorary president of the International Hegel Society, Professor Andreas Arndt of the Berlin Humboldt University, and the Honorary Member of the International Hegel Society, Professor of Chamber Music at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Visiting Professor at the Iceland Academy of the Arts (Reykjavik, Iceland) - Professor Vladimir Stoupel. They joined the ambassadors of the Georgian Technical University. I wish them success.

Today, in the direction of scientific collaboration with CERN, two significant documents were signed. Based on these memorandums of understanding, the scientists and engineers of the Georgian Technical University will be actively involved in the realization of the FCC of the future cyclic collider at CERN, and they will also continue to participate in the CMS experiment phase 2 renewal. 

It is the beginning of a new stage in science, in which Georgia and the Georgian Technical University will participate, which is very important for our university and its researchers, especially young scientists and students. It should be noted that the deepening of scientific collaborations in the engineering-technological or humanitarian direction is carried out with the greatest support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of the Government of Georgia”, said David Gurgenidze.

The International Hegel Congress, under the auspices of the International Hegel Society, is held regularly every two years in different countries.
