At the Georgian Technical University, within the framework of the 35th Hegel International Jubilee Congress, the famous French pianist and an honorary member of the International Hegel Society, Professor Vladimir Stoupel will perform with a musical performance – “On Morality in Music”.

Pianist Stoupel’s musical performance will be held on October 3rd this year, at 08:00 p.m., in the GTU administrative building, on the Ivane Javakhishvili hall stage(3rd floor).

Stoupel will present a French-German program with works by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Paul Dukas, and at the end of the concert, as an honorary member of the International Hegel Society and a participant of the congress, he will speak about the relationship between music and philosophy. 

Hegel’s 35th International Jubilee Congress, with the theme – “The Idea of ​​Goodness and Morality in Hegel’s Philosophy”, is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of this prestigious scientific forum.

The congress is being held in Georgia for the first time in the post-Soviet space and it will be hosted by the Georgian Technical University from September 30th to October 4th. The financial supporters of the high-ranking scientific event are the International Hegel Society, various European and American scientific foundations and the Government of Georgia. Due to the importance of Hegel’s philosophy and the history of its reception, under the auspices of the International Hegel Society, the congress is held every two years, and world-renowned scientists and researchers participate.

A participant in the 35th International Hegel Anniversary Congress, Professor Stoupel, a French pianist based in Berlin, Germany, works not only with French cultural institutions around the world but also with German representatives, including in the United States and Nouakchott, Mauritania. He desires to create cultural ties and thereby contribute to cultural diplomacy.

Vladimir Stupel is a distinguished soloist with sharp individualism and a rich tonal and emotional palette. His performance is technically perfect, thrilling, and unforgettable (publications: Washington Post, Der Tagesspiegel Berlin, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). It is worth noting his cooperation as an invited soloist with world-famous orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, the German Symphony Orchestra and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Staatskapelle Mainz, and the Staatsphilharmonie Kassel; In the United States: Wheeling Symphony, Lancaster Symphony and Lake Placid Sinfonietta. Stoupel collaborates with famous conductors, including Christian Thielemann, Mikhail Yurovsky, Leopold Hager, Marek Janovsky, Stefan Malzew, Patrik Ringborg, and others. In recent years, Stoupel has made a name as a conductor.

Stoupel was awarded the French Order - Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2022. He is a Professor of Chamber Music at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and a Visiting Professor at the Iceland Academy of the Arts (Reykjavik, Iceland); He was engaged in academic activities at the Lübeck Academy of Music (Germany), the Mozart Academy (Philadelphia), the Namur Conservatory (France); He has received many awards and prestigious international prizes at different times; He is the founder and artistic director of several prestigious international music competitions and festivals.
