The Scientific Council of the Georgian Technical University Center for the Study of Production Forces and Natural Resources named after I. Jordania, announces an open competition for the following scientific position:
Head of the Department of Land, Water and Forest Resources - (1 staff unit).
Applications will be accepted from October 11th to October 16th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the address: Tbilisi, M. Kostava Street N67, 10th educational building of GTU, fifth floor, room N503, I. Jordania Georgian Center for the study of Productive Forces and Natural Resources, responsible person: R. The scientific council of the center will conduct an interview and voting for the candidate(s) for the vacant position of the head of the department will be held on October 18th, 2024.
The results of the voting will be announced by the Scientific Council immediately after the voting is over on October 18th, 2024, and will be posted in a prominent place in the center and published on the website

Statements/complaints regarding the rules violation of conducting the competition will be received by the Scientific Council until October 23rd, 2024.

II. Competition conditions
The main conditions of the competition:
The head of the center’s scientific structural unit position can holda person who meets the requirements established for the chief scientific employee or senior scientific employee of this independent scientific research unit.
If the person does not hold the position of chief scientific employee or senior scientific employee, in case of being elected to the head of the center’s scientific structural unit, he/she is also considered to have been elected to the appropriate scientific position.
a) The position of chief scientific employee can be held by a person who has a doctor’s degree or an academic degree equivalent to it, with at least 6 years of experience in scientific and research activities;
b) The position of senior scientific employee can be held by a person who has a doctor’s degree or an academic degree equivalent to it;
c) A person with a master’s degree or equivalent academic degree can hold the position of a scientific employee.
Also, at least 6 (six) years of experience in research activities in Relevant Natural Resources, of which at least 3 (three) years of experience as a head of a department, group, or project; must have published at least 10 scientific works (monograph, article) in leading local and international journals and/or international scientific conference materials in the last 10 years.
A person will be elected to the position of head of a scientific structural unit for a period of 5 years.
The person wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) present:
a) An application and questionnaire prepared and signed in the appropriate form (the forms will be published on the website of the center
https://gnrc.gtu.ge/), as well as the documents confirming the information presented in them: diploma, certificate, deeds, etc. (original and copy);
b) a document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
c) document(s) confirming the scientific research experience (length of service) certified by the seal of the relevant organization/institution;
d) a list of scientific and educational-methodical works, certified by the signature and seal of a competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if any);
e) CV – autobiography
f) the plan for the strategic development of the department and also the vision of the field development;
g) ID card (original and photocopy);
h) 2 photographs 3X4;
i) Notice of conviction for committing a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and notice of deprivation of rights.
Note: The person who has already submitted the mentioned references to the university’s human capital management department is exempted from presenting ten documents.
III. Rules of conducting the competition
The competition will be held according to the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education”, the university’s regulation, and the “Rule of Recruitment of Scientific Personnel of the I. Jordania Center for the Study of Production Forces and Natural Resources of Georgia”, which the contestant will familiarize himself/herself within the scientific council, on the websites of the university and the center;
The scientific council will consider: the conformity of the contestant’s qualification and competence with the competitive position, including scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merit corresponding to the profile of the competitive position; Also (according to the decision of the Scientific Council) the results of the interview conducted with the contestant(s);
The competition results can be appealed in court according to the applicable legislation.
