At the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University, a graduation ceremony was held for the graduates of the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate educational programs.

Academician Edisher Kvesitadze congratulated 160 graduates of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering for the 2023-2024 academic year on the completion of their studies.

“Agriculture is the oldest branch of the Georgian economy. For the market component of the industry to be considered well-developed, highly qualified staff is necessary. I am proud to announce that the Georgian Technical University provides students with an opportunity to receive a European standard education, which is a guarantee of their professionalism.

Our graduates work successfully in both administrative and scientific fields. There is a great demand for our graduates in the agricultural sector, which especially increases our motivation. Once again, I congratulate you on completing your studies and wish you success,” noted the dean.

For information: about 2,000 students study at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering at all three levels of university education, and 22 educational programs in the agrarian direction operate, including the “Forestry Affairs” program, which is the only one in the region.

Based on the state’s interest, developing agricultural sciences, bachelor’s programs operate at the faculty: agricultural technologies; viticulture and enology; animal husbandry; soil and water resources engineering; food technology; forestry work; agronomy; agro engineering is fully financed by the state. There are three double-diploma programs at the faculty.

In 2019, a double-diploma bachelor’s program (production management in the dairy industry) was implemented with the participation of the Georgian Technical University and the French University - Universite de RENNES 1.

Within the framework of this program, the Georgian Technical University participates in the programs of French-Georgian universities. The program includes 60 credit modules, and lectures are held in English.

Along with their French colleagues, Georgian professors and teachers lead the training course, and students go through all the components of the learning process that their French peers do. After completing this module, they receive two diplomas - from a French university and GTU.

The faculty also operates a double-diploma bachelor’s program in viticulture-enology at the University of Milan. A student must complete 60 credits in Italy to obtain two diplomas. Knowledge of the Italian language is required to participate in this program. From 2021, the Master’s program of GTU - Viticulture and Enology became a member of the European equivalent master’s program EMAVE consortium.

The consortium includes universities from France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. Students of this program have a unique opportunity to get two Georgian-French diplomas. Students go to any consortium member country for one year, which allows them to get a European education in viticulture and enology and to prepare a master’s thesis.
