The Rector of The Georgian Technical University, academician David Gurgenidze, on behalf of the university community, congratulates his colleagues and students, the future generation, and citizens of Georgia on Independence Day.
“Today is May 26 - the Independence Day of Georgia, the main national holiday, the birthday of a new state, a worthy page in the history of our homeland, a symbol of eternity, loyalty, and self-sacrifice!
On this glorious and outstanding day for the country, we spiritually unite with the gloriole attired of martyrdom, the patriots who fought for independence and, we are the heirs of their affairs, who have the honor to carry the flag of freedom waved by them with dignity in today’s most difficult conditions, that is full of challenges.
The struggle for independence and freedom is a continuous process. Today, we continue to strive for Georgia to preserve and develop national values - its own identity, culture, and traditions, to strengthen democracy, economy, education, science, and engineering fields, to introduce innovative technologies, to share the best international practices, and thus to continue the steady progress towards reconstruction.
The unity of spirituality and intelligence is the basis for perpetuating our national statehood. The history of Georgia is a continuous chain of trials, the overcoming of which is possible for a small nation only with God’s grace and unity.
In this way, we will be able to take an independent and honorable place in the world community, and we will be able to protect both the stability of the state and our national values and ensure the smooth development of the country.
Today, both our people and the government highly appreciate the achievements of our ancestors, we stand on the guard of peace, we protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state, and at the same time, we bear the greatest responsibility to the future generations, who must move Georgia to a new stage of development, who with the efforts of the generation of fathers, should be formed into intelligent educated, professional, and persistent people, to lead the path laid by Nikoladze and to follow the work started together to the end – to together build Georgia as a strong, educated, developed state, faithful to the principles of European worldview and democracy.
On this path, the Technical University of Georgia has a special mission, vital for the country's reconstruction - to raise worthy citizens and highly professional specialists who will create the future of independent Georgia.
“Congratulations on the Independence Day of Georgia!” – is mentioned in the statement of David Gurgenidze, the Rector of The Georgian Technical University.
To celebrate Independence Day, on May 26, the administrative building of the Technical University of Georgia was lit up in the colors of the Georgian flag.
