In Memory of Eliko Okhanashvili
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, on behalf of the university community, expresses his sorrow over the death of Eliko Okhanashvili, a distinguished and dedicated employee of the university and a recipient of the GTU Gold Medal, and extends his condolences to the Okhanashvili family, colleagues and relatives of the deceased.

“Mrs. Eliko Okhanashvili served the Georgian Technical University selflessly and with dignity for almost six decades. She entered the then Polytechnic Institute as a very young woman in 1964 and has since connected her entire professional life with our alma mater. She was distinguished by her warmth and love for her colleagues, served the university with immeasurable devotion, and from 1978 to 2021, she headed the Chancellery of the Georgian Technical University with great and special responsibility. Her work, professional qualities, and human relations have always deserved the greatest respect and love from the university community.

Mrs. Eliko was an extremely kind, calm, benevolent, and distinguished professional who, for 57 years, with her daily and selfless routine and kindness, modestly contributed to the creation of a worthy history of the great university family. It was her outstanding contribution and merit that was celebrated with the university’s honorary and highest award - the gold medal, which we presented to Mrs. Eliko within the framework of the festive events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Georgian Technical University.

The memory of Eliko Okhanashvili will always remain among the employees and professors of the Georgian Technical University. We express our heartfelt condolences to the Okhanashvili family, Mrs. Eliko’s relatives and colleagues,” is stated in the rector’s condolence letter.
