“In the open day format, we regularly meet with graduating students of public schools in Tbilisi and the regions, their parents, school principals, and teachers. Our goal is to provide target groups with comprehensive information, to introduce the capabilities of the Georgian Technical University and our faculty, educational infrastructure, educational and research laboratories, which are among the best not only in the country, but also in the South Caucasus. It is noteworthy that the material and technical base of the Technical University is not inferior to the infrastructure of leading universities in Europe and America.

Over three days, students, teachers and principals of Tbilisi Public School #10 and Iveria Icon of the Virgin Mary Gymnasium, as well as Leliani Public School of Lagodekhi Municipality visited the Zhiuli Shartava Educational, Research, and Expert Laboratory Complex of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, the General University Virtual Modeling Center. They received detailed information about the faculty’s educational programs and learning environment, state-funded priority programs, the university library and museums, and diverse student life. Most importantly, we talked to the young people about career development opportunities and the benefits that young professionals trained by the university will receive after completing the programs.

It is noteworthy that the open-day meetings will continue until mid-July. It is also significant that our students are actively involved in the process of popularizing the university and educational programs. This time, the schoolchildren were hosted by students Mirian Shamatava, Mariam Kavtaradze, Ana Tvildiani, and Amanda Kvashilava, as well as doctoral students Miranda Ghvaladze and Marika Modebadze.

Our goal is to interest the younger generations as much as possible in STEM and IT educational programs, which are undoubtedly very promising and necessary specialties for all fields,” says Taliko Zhvania.

The Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems will host students and teachers from several public schools in Tbilisi and the regions every week in the open-days format.
