“The Knowledge and Experience Gained at the University Were a Decisive Factor in My Professional Success,” - GTU Master’s Student
“As a graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University, who has a successful career at the “Invino” winery, I can state with complete confidence that the knowledge and experience gained at this faculty were a decisive factor in my professional success,” says GTU master’s student Sandro Dzeria.

Sandro Dzeria graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in viticulture and winemaking and continued his studies at the master’s degree program in the same program.

As Sandro Dzeria says, the wine industry has a significant impact on the national economy, creates employment opportunities, attracts tourists, and promotes international trade, which led him to choose to become a highly qualified specialist in this field.

According to the master's student, during his studies at Georgian Technical University, he deepened his knowledge in various disciplines, namely, soil science, vine physiology, methods of combating pests, and wine marketing. The university gave him a solid foundation for gaining knowledge - starting from the selection of varieties and ending with modern winemaking techniques, which he successfully uses in practice today.

“Today, I successfully work in a winery, where I use the knowledge and experience gained at the university daily. I am convinced that studying at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Technical University is the best choice for those interested in viticulture and winemaking and who want to build a successful career in this field.

One of the most valuable factors for me was the field practices organized by the faculty. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a real environment, which made my studies more thorough and practice-oriented. I had the opportunity to participate in the cultivation and maintenance of a vineyard, where I learned pruning, irrigation system management, and disease prevention strategies. These practical experiences turned out to be very important for a better understanding of vineyard management and cultivation.

In addition, my practical training included cooperation with private wineries. I was lucky to have the opportunity to get to know their activities closely and to study modern fermentation technologies, quality control measures, and business strategies used in the winemaking industry. The involvement of private companies in university practices was extremely valuable, as I had the opportunity to observe the work of professionals and understand the challenges and innovations of modern winemaking.

Overall, the education and practical experience I received at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems prepared me for a successful career in this dynamic field. Thanks to the university for this, to each of my teachers,” says Sandro Dzeria.
