Students of the GTU Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering will now be able to develop industrial practices and skills necessary for the profession at the “Autotest Georgia” Company.

As the Vice-Rector of Georgian Technical University stated, the signing of the memorandum will contribute to improving the students’ qualifications and launching joint internship programs, which will make it possible to effectively train young people and develop professional skills.

According to Tamar Tsereteli, the interest in cooperation is mutual. Therefore, the parties will jointly take care of the students’ career development, the expansion of scientific, pedagogical, and practical cooperation, and the development of measures for the training and retraining of qualified personnel, which, according to the Vice-Rector, will contribute to the development of the automotive industry.

“The signing of this memorandum is an important factor for the close partnership between the academic community and the automotive industry. “Autotest Georgia”, one of the first projects implemented in Georgia with German investment, conducts technical inspections of all categories of vehicles using German MAHA equipment. It is also noteworthy that the company’s General Director, David Meskhishvili, is our university graduate.

By cooperating with the company, our students have a good opportunity to use the knowledge acquired at the university and gain practical experience in a real environment. This partnership will not only develop the skills of young people but will also contribute to their successful career development.

Georgian Technical University is ready to partner with the company to implement joint internship programs, specialized training, and research initiatives that will benefit both students and the automotive sector as a whole.

Given that the need for qualified specialists is urgent for the automotive industry, as a result of close cooperation with professionals in this field, we will establish strong scientific, pedagogical, and practical cooperation through similar memoranda, which will ensure, according to the existing requirements, the preparation of our students for future leadership in the field, as well as contribute to the development of the automotive industry by raising standards and introducing innovative technologies,” noted Tamar Tsereteli.

According to the director of “Autotest Georgia”, the Georgian Technical University, which is one of the leading institutions in the field of education, has a high international reputation and intellectual resources, therefore, cooperation with it in the direction of introducing new concepts and modern technologies is of particular importance for organizations and businesses working in the automotive industry. As Davit Meskhishvili noted, business should actively cooperate with the university, including in the direction of developing educational programs and training the young generation of professionals.

According to the memorandum, the parties, within the framework of their competence and common interests, will share knowledge and experience, implement joint activities, develop scientific and technical potential, improve the production base, and develop educational programs.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by representatives of the administration of the Georgian Technical University, founders of the company “Autotest Georgia” David Chikovani and Revaz Kldiashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Boris Gitolendia, professors and teachers of the Motor Transport and Logistics Program, and students.
