GTU Boys’ Team “GTU-1” Becomes National Champion in Snow Volleyball

The Georgian Technical University boys’ volleyball team “GTU-1” became the gold medalist and champion of the 2025 Georgian National Snow Volleyball Championship.
In this year’s National Snow Volleyball Championship held in the resort of Bakuriani, two boys’ volleyball teams competed on behalf of the Georgian Technical University “GTU-1” with the composition of Davit Tskhomaria, Aleksandre Zakaidze, Tornike Kamkamidze and Guga Gejadze, and “GTU-2” with the composition of Sandro Natsvlishvili, Mamuka Chakhnakia, Khasi Khalilov, and Gary Kuraziani.
“GTU-1” which showed the best results within the framework of this year’s championship, held the final match against “Gori 2” and defeated them with a score of 2:0, thus winning the gold medal and the title of champion of the tournament.
Academician David Gurgenidze, rector of the Georgian Technical University, on behalf of the professors and students, congratulates the university volleyball team on the Georgian championship and wishes them success in their studies and sports careers.
“The development and popularization of university sports is one of the important directions of student life. It is gratifying that, with the support of the university administration, our young people continue the rich sports traditions of the Georgian Technical University, compete in tournaments with dignity on behalf of the university, and, most importantly, win. The Georgian Technical University represented two teams at this year's National Snow Volleyball Championship. “GTU-1” showed special mobilization and preparation during the days of this honorable tournament and brought the champion’s cup to its alma mater. On behalf of the professors, teachers, and students, we congratulate and thank the athletes, their coaches, the University Student Services, Culture, and Sports Department and expect new victories from them,” says Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze.
