The Chairman (President) of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Zurab Gudavadze, met with the President of the European Council of Young Engineers, Paul Jackson, who is on a working visit to the university.

The meeting with the President of the European Council of Young Engineers, organized by the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers (GSCE), was attended by students of the construction faculties of GTU and accredited universities in Georgia, as well as the President of the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers (GSCE), the representative of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE) Executive Committee on the Asian continent, the representative of the WCCE Executive Committee in the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) Innovation and Technology Committee - Dr. Yuri Svanidze.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Technical University. Professor Zurab Gudavadze opened the event and thanked the President of the European Council of Young Engineers and the President of the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers.

As the Chairman of the Supervisory Board stated, the Georgian Technical University is connected with the European Council of Young Engineers by active and fruitful cooperation.

“The cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the European Council of Young Engineers was established based on a memorandum signed between the University and the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers. In turn, the University and society are connected by close and wide-ranging collaboration in a multifaceted direction.

The European Council of Young Engineers unites 22 professional engineering societies across Europe with more than half a million members and annually holds or participates in international conferences. The cooperation of the Georgian Technical University with this organization means an additional opportunity for our students to participate in events organized by the European Council of Young Engineers. I wish success to the university, the European Council of Young Engineers, and the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers,” noted Zurab Gudavadze.

According to the President of the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers, the society has been a member organization of the European Council of Young Engineers since 2024: “Along with scientists, professional societies and young engineers play a major role in the development of the engineering sector.

It is a great honor for us to be an active member of the European Council of Young Engineers and to participate in international conferences planned in various European countries with the Council.

The GTU Faculty of Construction with the university, is 102 years old. This is the oldest school and I hope that both the Young Engineers Committee of the Georgian Society of Civil Engineers and the students of Construction will make a certain contribution to solving the challenges in the engineering sector,” states Yuri Svanidze.

The President of the European Council of Young Engineers, Paul Jackson, introduced the organization’s action plan to the audience and provided information about the work.
