A public lecture - “Cyber Hygiene” was held at the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University, in the cyber security awareness raising campaign.

To raise awareness about cyber security, representatives of the Digital Governance Agency, in a public lecture, informed students of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems about the set of cyber security and cyber hygiene practices, habits, and measures used by individuals and organizations to ensure the security of computer systems, devices, networks, and online activities to minimize cyber risks.

According to the Dean of Informatics and Control Systems of GTU - Professor Taliko Zhvania, in the modern world, the need to protect personal and business information is increasing with the continuous development of digital innovations. It should be noted that a cybersecurity awareness campaign will be held worldwide in October, which itself will reduce the risks.

“Globally, Cyber Security Awareness Month is dedicated to discussing cyber security issues, sharing information about the importance of cyber security for citizens and organizations, and promoting international best practices. All professions are important, but in the 21st century, the leading field in all segments is Informatics and Control Systems. Digital technology is an invariable part of our daily life, and society is becoming increasingly dependent on it every day, therefore, each of us should know how to protect ourselves, and naturally, this process is not only associated with October”, said Taliko Zhvania. 

At the end of the public lecture, the Digital Governance Agency organized fun and informative competitions for students.

Symbolic gifts were given to the winners, and important and necessary recommendations for cyber security were outlined.
