Academician David Gurgenidze, rector of the Georgian Technical University, academic staff, and students of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of GTU, on behalf of the university community, express their condolences to the Robitashvili family, colleagues, and parents on the death of Alexander Robitashvili, emeritus of the Department of Digital Telecommunication Technologies.
“A meritorious teacher, a sincere and incomparable friend, a highly qualified professional, who during his long teaching career raised a professional cadre of the field, left us. We express our condolences to the family and colleagues”, is said in the statement.
Alexander Robitashvili's pedagogical and scientific activity was completely connected with the faculty of the Polytechnic Institute, then the Georgian Technical University, first of communication, then of energy and telecommunications. He played a major role in the Faculty of Communication establishment, was the deputy dean of the faculty for many years, and was the author of many scientific works, textbooks, and monographs. In 2020, he was awarded an emeritus academic title.
