Edisher Gvenetadze, a professor of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Georgian Technical University, delivered a public lecture to the students – “Renegades from foreign countries in Georgia - history and parallels”.
The event was organized by the University Laboratory of Christian Culture Research and “Michel Mouskhely” and “Nodar Tabidze” student clubs.
The public lecture was attended by professors and lecturers of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, students, and free listeners.
The speaker shared current historical facts with the audience and presented his vision and analysis regarding the topic.
“After gaining independence, we still have a young state facing many challenges. The most important of them is the preservation and strengthening of sovereignty. Our goal sharing historical experience, is to save the main attributes of our identity and to become a part of the civilized world with dignity,” said Professor Edisher Gvenetadze.
The speaker, based on specific historical examples, reminded the audience that “there are well-known facts in history, when along with heroes dedicated to the homeland and Christianity, there were always non-Georgian “Georgians” who, based on mercantile interests, betrayed the country’s interests and became renegades of foreign states.
As he mentioned, history is cyclical, and it needs a correct analysis, and the future generation with the right vision and fruitful work that has crucial importance can find the right state orientation.
At the end of the lecture, an exchange of views and discussion took place, and Professor Edisher Gvenetadze answered the students’ questions.
