GTU Institute “Techinform” researchers completed a certificate course in scientific process management in Denmark
The researchers of the Institute of the Georgian Technical University “Techinform” in the direction of management of scientific processes passed an intensive certificate course for science managers in Denmark, which was led by the Danish organization DARMA (Danish Association of Research Managers and Administrators).

Within the framework of the certificate program of science managers, the employees of the scientific research institute – “Techinform” met with the representatives of the higher education and research agency of the Danish Ministry of Science and Education, and also learned about the activities of Denmark’s leading universities.

According to Professor Mariam Razmadze, one of the participants of the certificate program, and the deputy director of “Techinform”, the course, which was conducted by highly professional trainers of the DARMA organization, was loaded with presentations and debates on topics that are current and relevant in the international scientific space, in the direction of scientific research administration is a priority.

“Within the intensive course, we got acquainted with the European research policy, which, in the long term, has an important and often decisive impact on the profession of science managers.

DARMA specialists focused on raising awareness and capacity building in our field, the need to create national networks for scientific research administrators and their support measures, describing the administrative support of research projects and the necessary details for evaluating applications, opportunities to find funding sources, as well as the implementation of a mentoring system for national research administrators in European networks and others”, noted Mariam Razmadze.

As she mentioned, under the auspices of the certificate program, an informative and interesting meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the Higher Education and Research Agency of the Danish Ministry of Science and Education - Anders Degard, Josephine Them Parnas, Jonas Toft Ludwigsen and Emma Holm. The meeting discussed the Danish model of science management and the challenges facing the scientific ecosystem, funding sources, and opportunities for international partnerships.

As Mariam Razmadze noted, the course participants studied the models of science management in the leading Danish universities and discussed the possibilities of future cooperation with them.

For this purpose, they visited the University of Copenhagen, IT University of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, and Southern Denmark Universities, as well as one of the world’s famous Danish Business School (CBS), which has been in the leading position in international university ranking systems for many years.

The participants of the intensive qualification training course intended for science managers from Georgia, together with the researchers of “Techinform”, were representatives of three universities and one research center.
