Project InnoCENS - Entrepreneurship Study Visit at UPV

On 19-20 September, at Polytechnic University of Valencia – UPV (Spain) was conducted entrepreneurship study visit in the framework of Erasmus+ Project InnoCENS (Project #573965-EPP-1-2016-1-SE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), where the representatives of GTU, as the project consortium member university, participated.

The aim of the study tour at UPV was to consider and arrange the details of planned “Entrepreneurship Day”, national dissemination conference and innovation competition, including preparation of Entrepreneurship Day at each partner university; work plan for innovation competition; preparation of National Dissemination Conference and INNOCENS-HERITAG joint event to be conducted in February, 2019. At working meetings were discussed the issues related to the project management as well.

Participants of the study tour attended Entrepreneurial day event rehearsal and the Climate Launchpad Spanish National Final – Business Idea competition to share best practices and experience in this regard.

It should be noted that at each PC universities, including GTU will be conducted competition and each university will sel ect 10 teams to a local pitch competition and finally one winner will participate in the final pitch competition that will be conducted at UPV in Autumn, 2019.

About 23 participants fr om project consortium member universities participated in the study visit at UPV. GTU was represented by administrative and academic staff: Assistant Professor Nino Zhizhilashvili (International Relations and Standards Office) and Associate Professor Boris Gitolendia (Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering).

It is noteworthy that the project is coordinated by Swedish Royal Institute of Technology – KTH and the main objective of the project is to enhance innovation competences and entrepreneurial skills in engineering education through university-business cooperation in order to support creation of new enterprises, new jobs and economic growth in the partner countries: Georgia, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
