On 8 June, at GTU Faculty of Power Engineering and Telecommunication was held the workshop "Internet Fundamentals and Data Analytics Workshop", organized by RIPE NCC, Georgian National Communications Commission – GNCC and GTU Faculty of Power Engineering and Telecommunication.
This Activity was implemented in the framework of MoU, signed between Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) and RIPE NCC.
Workshop presenters were Mr. Christian Teuschel, RIPE NCC, System Architect; Mr. Vahan Hovsepyan, RIPE NCC, External Relations Officer, Central Asia and Caucasus and Mr. Ucha Seturi, RIPE NCC Fellow, Executive Director, Small and Medium Telecom Operators Association of Georgia.
The course provided the audience with a better understanding of the Internet and its operation. The first part covered technical services and organisations that form the fundamentals of the Internet ecosystem.
The second part of the course was tailored towards a more practical approach and teaches all the building blocks a data scientist needs to know with regards to the Internet. Important data sets were presented along existing and future applications of these data sets.
