Erasmus+ - Course on Georgian Transportation System at VTDKO

On 6-10 November GTU Assoc. Prof. Boris Gitolendia from the Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering delivered the lectures at Vilnius College of Technologies and Design - VTDKO within ERASMUS+ KA1 mobility project coordinated by VTDKO (Lithuania).

He delivered the lectures at VTDKO Faculty of Technology. The course covered the issues of Georgian transportation system as well as the prospects for the further adaptation of the Georgian transport system with the EU standards and its role regarding the whole regional integration. He also made the presentations about Georgia and Georgian Technical University, its educational and research activities.

Within the mobility activities he had working meeting with the representatives of the Faculty administration and academic staff as well. At the meeting were discussed the perspectives for further cooperation between the universities under Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Capacity building in the field of higher education.

Lithuanian Prof. Jurijus Tretjakovas organized the visits at modern laboratories and educational centers at the Faculty of Technology and Mr. Gitolendia became familiar with ongoing educational and scientific activities at the Faculty.

On 8-9 November within mobility activities young Georgian scientist took active part in International Conference “Technological Innovations for Sustainable Society” conducted at VTDKO. and made report on “Analysis of Intermodality Issues in Georgia’s Transportation System” representing the research outcomes conducted within the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Young Scientists’ Research Grant  2016 – YS-2016-41 “Case Analysis of the Georgian Transport Sector, Interoperability and Intermodality with the European Systems”.
