Georgian Technical University participates in the project MATH-GEAR (TEMPUS IV-6). The main goal of the project is the modernization of mathematics and statistics curricula for engineering studies in Georgian and Armenian Universities by introducing modern educational technologies.
The following activities have been conducted in the frames of the project:
• The educational programs of mathematics and probability and statistics for engineers have been compared with corresponding European programs. Modernized syllabuses are focused on the engineering practical problems and exercises;
• According to the mobility program of the project, two master-level students of engineering specialty have been chosen to continue their studies in the European partner universities, the University of Saarland (Saarbrucken, Germany) and Claude Bernard University (Lion, France);
• Preparations for launching of the e-learning educational program Math-Bridge and of a special portal for the teachers of mathematics and the students is in process.
