On 22 September, Chinese delegation from Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) leaded by Prof. Pan Yunhe, the Executive Vice President of CAE as well as the Ambassador H.E. Mr. YUE Bin and other representatives of the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Georgia visited Georgian Technical University.
The purpose of CAE’s visit to Georgia was to do basic study work of the infrastructure development of the countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt so as to find some potential cooperation areas.
Archil Prangishvili, Rector of GTU opened the meeting with the Chinese delegation attended by the members of GTU Academic Council and Senate and the Presidium of Georgian Engineering Academy as well.
At the meeting was held the rewarding ceremony of Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Pan Yunhe. He was Conferred an Honorary Degree of DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA in recognition of the Contribution to Computer Sciences and Information Technology, for the Development of Scientific – Technical Studies for the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and for the Establishment of Partnership Relations with Georgian Technical University as well as he was elected as Real Member of Georgian Engineering Academy.
