On April 17, at Georgian Technical University the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia Kakha Kaladze opened the Conference "Young Engineers in Georgian Energy Sector". The Conference was organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Georgian Technical University (GTU). Prof. Archil Prangishvili, Rector of the Georgian Technical University and other representatives of GTU administration, Professors and students of Power Engineering and Telecommunications Faculty as well as the young experts from the USAID Hydropower Investment Promotion Project and young power engineers working in the sector participated in the Conference.
The goal of the conference is to strengthen and promote young engineers' role in Georgian energy sector and to stimulate open discussion and exchange of information on recent developments in hydropower investment issues that will facilitate coordination among all energy stakeholders.
In addition, the students presented their works and visions to the Minister.
