“Automated Control Systems and Modern Information Technologies”
On May 20, at GTU was opened international scientific-technical conference “Automated Control Systems and Modern Information Technologies” devoted to 40th anniversary of the establishment of Department “Automated Control Systems” at GTU and 70th anniversary of Gocha Chogovadze, Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, and George Gogichaishvili, corresponding member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences and 10th anniversary of the UNESCO Chair “Information Society” as well.
The rector of GTU, Archil Prangishili and head of the UNESCO chair, Academician Gocha Chogovadze lead the work of the conference.
The rector of Technical University opened the conference. Academician Chogovadze presented the report "When I remember the past and think about the future" at the plenary session.
Together with Georgian scientists, scientists from Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Cambodia, France, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and USA are participating in the Conference.
Two sections and five subsections are working during the conference.
The conference topics include:
- Theoretical informatics: mathematical and computer modeling
- Practical informatics: data management and software technologies
- Technical informatics: computer engineering and information communications technologies
- Applied informatics: management information systems
- Information security systems
- Didactics of informatics
- Information society:
- Information society – advantages and risks
- Access to information and information technologies – practical ways, mechanisms and legal aspects
- Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and employment
- Network technologies ( notably social networks ) and their impact on economical, social, political and cultural aspects of the Georgian society
- Electronic government“ or „Electronic Democracy“: prerequisites and conditions of implementation
The conference ends on May 22.
