International Forum of Georgian Scientists
 
On September 20-21, in the scope of the Forum of Georgian Scientists, two-day plenary session of Georgian scientists who work abroad was conducted at Hotel Courtyard Marriott. International Forum of Georgian Scientists was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, PLE – Rustaveli Foundation and the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues.
Forum of Georgian scientists was designed to support the development of science in Georgia, sharing the experience of Georgian scientists who work abroad and planning future cooperation.
Poster sessions were held in parallel with the plenary sessions. Scientific potential of higher educational institutions, scientific-research centers, information about scientific achievements, academic resources and etc. were presented at this session.
Members of the Parliament of Georgia and the Government, representatives of international organizations and academic field, among them rector of Georgian Technical University Archil Prangishvili attended the two-day plenary session.
Among the speakers were GTU former professors, Otar Mgaloblishvili, chief scientific-employee of General Engineering Research Institute of Liverpool John Moore University, Great Britain; Kartlos Kachiashvili, Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, Pakistan, Lahore; as well as Shota Gugushvili, Free University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. They spoke about current educational and scientific works in their universities and the opportunities of involving Georgian Technical University in these educational-research processes as well.
