On April 01 the Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shahskini visited the Technical University of Georgia. The Minister awarded the Full Professor of the Department of Machine-Building of the Faculty of Transportation and Machine-Building, Vazha Menteshashvili with the Technical University Diploma of honor, for his long and successful pedagogical and scientific activities.
The Minister got familiarized with the rehabilitative works of the University as well. The facade of the administration building was renovated in the framework of these works. The conference hall was equipped with the apparatus for synchronous translation and the modern furniture. The education rooms of the 4th building were also renovated. The gym of the second building was repaired capitally with the full reconstruction. New bathrooms with cloak-rooms and the training rooms were also refurbished.
The Minister visited one of the best research centers of the bio-nano ceramics and the materials of nano composites in Caucasus. The chairman of this research center is the board member of the International Ceramic Federation and European Ceramic Society, Zviad Kovziridze. The center works in several fields. The partners of the center are the University of Bremen, the bio-medical engineering lab of Tohoku University (Japan) and the University of Manchester (UK).
