“The introduction of BIM technology-based education ensures the harmonization of the educational process with international academic and professional standards, which is especially important in the conditions of rapid digital transformation of the construction, engineering, and architectural fields. The partnership will allow us to integrate the latest software, practice-oriented teaching methods, and knowledge tailored to the real needs of the industry into the educational process,” said Professor Tamar Tsereteli, Vice-Rector of Georgian Technical University, during the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Georgian Technical University and BIM Solutions Georgia for the development of BIM education.
The cooperation aims to introduce international standards of education based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies in Georgia, as well as to strengthen modern software. Within the framework of the partnership, special attention will be paid to equipping future civil engineers and architects with modern digital skills, which will significantly increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
According to the Vice-Rector, the cooperation between BIM Solutions Georgia and the Georgian Technical University, in particular, the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design, is important for the development of urban planning, construction and engineering fields and will contribute to the integration of modern global technological brands such as Autodesk, Trimble, Fine, IdeaStatica into the education system, as well as the establishment of a modern BIM training center at the Georgian Technical University.
As Professor Tamar Tsereteli states, the university’s mission is to create an academic and technological environment for future engineers and architects that will help young people develop into professionals.
“The signing of a memorandum of understanding with BIM Solutions Georgia for the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design is an important academic and strategic step aimed at raising the quality of modern architectural and urban education to a high level. BIM technologies in the modern era are not only a digital tool, but also a complex educational and professional platform that combines design, urban analysis, engineering integration, and modern approaches to project management. Within the framework of the cooperation, BIM teaching models will be gradually introduced into the faculty’s curricula, providing students with the opportunity to master methodologies and software established in international practice. Special attention will be paid to practice-oriented teaching, interdisciplinary studio projects, and a learning process that closely approximates the real professional environment. One of the important tasks of the faculty is to train architects, urbanists, and designers who will be able to respond to the challenges of modern urban development based on sustainable development, digital planning, and innovative spatial thinking. We are confident that the partnership with BIM Solutions Georgia will contribute to both the professional formation of students and the strengthening of the research and academic potential of the faculty, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the country’s urban and infrastructural development processes,” says Tamar Tsereteli.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Georgian Technical University and BIM Solutions Georgia was signed by Vice-Rector, Professor Tamar Tsereteli, and the company’s Managing Partner Mariam Kutateladze.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Nugzar Khvedeliani, faculty teachers, representatives of BIM Solutions Georgia, and the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.
