The Dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering discussed the needs of the beneficiaries with the administration of the Homeless Children’s Shelter, the Day Center coordinator, and educators. As Professor Ketevan Kutateladze noted, at the initiative of Rector Academician David Gurgenidze, to strengthen civic and social responsibility among students and within the university community, support for vulnerable groups in society has become a tradition at the Georgian Technical University.

“Such charitable initiatives are particularly important for both our students and the university community as a whole. The university is not just a space for gaining knowledge and research - it is a place where responsible and empathetic young people should be formed. That is why, at the initiative and constant support of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, caring for vulnerable groups of society has already become a tradition at our university, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays, when warmth and attention are very important.

The event brought great joy not only to the beneficiaries of the shelter but also to our students. The children were sincerely delighted with the gifts that the students prepared for them with great love. The moment when the children did not want to part with us was especially touching - this once again shows how valuable not only material assistance is for them, but also human warmth and kindness. We are sure that such initiatives will continue in the future, which will further strengthen the values in our youth, without which the construction of a responsible society and a strong state is impossible,” said Ketevan Kutateladze.

After the presentation of gifts and acquaintance, the students of the Georgian Technical University offered pre-prepared activities for the beneficiaries of the Rustavi Shelter for Homeless Children and the Day Center “Warm House” of Caritas Georgia for entertainment and participated in fun sports and cognitive games with them, thus creating a real festive mood for the children.
