“He was an excellent researcher and jurist, a person endowed with enviable pedagogical talents and skills, whose efforts were invaluable in educating the next generation of professionals and who made a great contribution to the establishment of the Faculty of Law and International Relations at the Georgian Technical University. We were lucky to have such a colleague, friend - distinguished by his personal qualities, wisdom, and generosity, with love for his university, employees, and students. Years will never erase his memory from our memory. His photo will, from now on, occupy an honorable place in the gallery of distinguished scientists and teachers of the university,” - with these words, the rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, recalled the head of the Faculty of Law and International Relations at the GTU: distinguished Professor and Scientist, Doctor of Law, Former Member of the Academic Council - Alexander Taliashvili.
At the initiative of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze and in agreement with the Academic Council, as well as taking into account the wishes of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, professors and teachers and the university community, to pay tribute to the merits of Professor Alexander Taliashvili, his photograph was placed in the administrative building of the Georgian Technical University, in the GTU Gallery of Distinguished Scientists and Teachers.
The event dedicated to the memory was attended by the Chancellor of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Karlo Kopaliani, the President of the Supervisory Board, Professor Zurab Gudavadze, Vice-Rectors - Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, Professor Ivane (Mamuka) Giorgadze, scientific and academic circles, as well as, at the invitation of the university community - the wife, children, family members, friends, and his students of Aleksandre Taliashvili.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, Professor Mamuka Giorgadze, Professors Shengeli Pitskhelauri, Givi Lobzhanidze, Anzor Abralava, Nika Pipia, Miranda Gurgenidze, Tamaz Urtmelidze, as well as specialists and researchers trained by Alexander Taliashvili, spoke about the achievements and merits of Professor Alexander Taliashvili and drew attention to his scientific work.
As the speakers noted, Professor Alexander Taliashvili was an outstanding researcher, an erudite jurist, who enjoyed authority in his field; at various times, he held the positions of Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Judge of the Didube-Chughureti District Court of Tbilisi, and State Counselor of Justice. His scientific papers, monographs, and textbooks make a significant contribution to the training of the next generation of professionals.
According to colleagues, Alexander Taliashvili, with his life principles and dedication to his work, is a bright example for employees and students, which makes his memory even more respected.
The wife and family members of Professor Alexander Taliashvili expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, the Faculty of Law and International Relations, professors and students for their appreciation of Alexander Taliashvili's contributions, for their sincere respect and love, which, they say, once again confirms the importance of Professor Alexander Taliashvili in the reality of the Georgian Technical University.
