Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Lominadze, and Director of the Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium, Tamar Kapanadze, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
To promote the introduction and development of international standards, the memorandum envisages deepening cooperation between the university and the school in the field of teaching and scientific research activities, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives focused on improving the quality of education, the dissemination of innovative educational approaches, and strengthening academic and scientific potential.
According to the GTU Vice-Rector, the document establishes a solid foundation for an effective partnership between the university and a general education institution, promoting the realization of the principle of lifelong education, which is crucial for the professional and academic development of both students and teachers.
“The partnership between the Georgian Technical University and Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium is an important strategic step that serves to strengthen the connection between different levels of the education system and the effective implementation of the lifelong education model. The collaboration between the school and the university fosters the early development of academic culture, cultivates student’ research skills, and enhances their interest in higher education. Furthermore, the memorandum establishes a robust framework for launching joint initiatives in education, scientific research, and innovation. It emphasizes introducing international educational standards and advancing the educational process accordingly, thereby directly improving education quality and creating an environment aligned with modern requirements. Most importantly, the cooperation planned within the framework of the memorandum will contribute to both the sharing of pedagogical experience and the strengthening of scientific potential, and supporting talented young people. We are confident that the new partnership will contribute to the creation of effective mechanisms for ensuring sustainable development in the field of education and strengthening the intellectual and scientific resources of the youth,” says Tamar Lominadze.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium was attended by students, deans from various faculties, professors and teachers who are alumni of the Classical Gymnasium, as well as current students and teachers of the Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium.
