International Scientific Conference
“Food Safety Problems”

On May 28 – 29 at TUG was conducted International Scientific Conference “Food Safety Problems” organized by the Technical University of Georgia; Georgian State Agrarian University; Engineering Academy of Georgia.

The rector of TUG, Porf. Archil Prangishvili opened the conference. Among the invited guests were Prof. Gela Javakhishvili, rector of Georgian State Agrarian University; George Goguadze, Members Of Georgian Parliament; Otar Toidze, Chairman of Healthcare and Social Issues Committee of Georgian Parliament; the representative of patriarchate of Georgia and other authorities.

The working sections of the conference were:

• Ecologically Pure and Organic Food Production
• Bio and Nanotechnologies in Food Production
• Safety of Food Production
• Technology of Agricultural Products’ Processing
• Technological Processes and Equipment of Food and Refrigerator Enterprises

At the conference Prof. Archil Prangishvili suggested creation the committee regarding food safety issues together with the Georgian State Agrarian University that would investigate and resolve these important problems mentioned above in accord with the Georgian Parliament and Legislation.

On May 29 was signed the appropriate resolution as well.
