A presentation of the latest academic work, “International Aeronautical and Space Law,” was held at the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Georgian Technical University.

As Professor Ivane Giorgadze stated, the work is the first Georgian-language book that combines two independent but closely related fields - international aeronautical law and space law. According to him, the goal of creating the book was to provide the Georgian academic space with modern, systematized, and in-depth material that would help both law students as well as researchers and practitioners interested in this field.

“It is especially important for the Faculty of Law and International Relations to create and disseminate academic works that reflect the rapidly growing and dynamic directions of modern international law. The book prepared by Professors Givi Lobzhanidze and Aslan Abashidze is an indispensable resource that provides our students with the opportunity to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the foundations of both international air navigation law and space law and its current challenges. Today, when the fields of aviation and space activities are developing at the speed of light, it is necessary for legal specialists to have complete, reliable, and scientifically established knowledge about these directions. The publication of such books contributes to both the enrichment of educational courses and the strengthening of the research potential of the university. I am sure that the work will make a significant contribution to the professional development of future lawyers, as well as help them better understand the complex legal mechanisms that shape international aviation and space law regulatory framework,” said Ivane Giorgadze.

The presentation focused on the current challenges related to the development of aviation and space activities, including air navigation safety, use of space resources, space responsibility, legal regulations in the context of new technologies, and other issues.

At the end of the event, students and professors actively participated in the book discussion. Participants assessed the book as an important step in Georgian legal science, which offers a new basis for strategically important areas for the country, such as aviation and space research.
