GTU Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, Congratulates Young People on International Students’ Day
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, addresses young people on the occasion of International Students’ Day.

In his address, the Rector discusses the crucial role of students in the country’s development and highlights the significant, positive influence that student youth will have on humanity’s future development.

“Dear students, for the 79th year, the world community has been celebrating International Students’ Day. This date simultaneously embodies youthful perseverance, hope, and an insatiable desire for progress.

The studenthood is a special stage in a person’s life. This is the most active and productive period when, along with the accumulation of new knowledge, a future-oriented worldview, professional vision, principles, and goals are formed, and on the other hand, civic consciousness and the fundamental values that determine the sustainability, justice, and development priorities of the state are formed.

You, the student-youth, are that powerful energy and intellectual force, without which the progress of the country, the sustainable perspective of the future, and in general, the unwavering movement of humanity towards a better future are unthinkable.

That is why we are deeply convinced that with the efforts of youth and innovative thinking, you will be able to create a new, just order, and direct the energy of society towards enlightenment and science, towards progress and development.

Georgian Technical University - with the active support of the Government of Georgia and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, with the direct cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and personally Minister Givi Mikanadze - is always ready to support you on this challenging path: to provide you with an active student life, to create the best academic environment, research opportunities, modern student spaces, under which conditions you will be able to maximally reveal your potential, talents, and skills, which are so necessary for career development and future full realization.

I wish you health, hard work, bold steps, and success, along with self-belief and goal-orientedness. Remember - knowledge is power, and your determination today is the greatest success of our country tomorrow. Congratulations on International Students’ Day! This is stated in David Gurgenidze’s address.

For your information, 79 years ago, at the International Congress of Students in Prague, November 17 was declared International Students’ Day in memory of the Czech patriotic students.
