An Event Dedicated to the 36th Anniversary of Cooperation With Saarland University of Technology and Economics at GTU
A series of events dedicated to the 36th anniversary of successful and fruitful cooperation with Saarland University of Technology and Economics (Germany) has begun at the Georgian Technical University.

Within the framework of the series of events, public lectures, joint scientific seminars, presentations of student projects, and cultural programs will be held with the participation of a delegation from Saarland University of Technology and Economics, which aims to further deepen the partnership and develop new initiatives in the fields of engineering, economics, and technology. Additionally, the German guests will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the activities of partner organizations and industrial companies affiliated with the Georgian Technical University on-site.

The opening of the event was attended by the scientific and academic circles of the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University, students, as well as a delegation consisting of students and professors from the Saarland University of Technology and Economics, led by Professor Wilhelm Hauser.

The parties once again noted that German-Georgian academic cooperation is of great importance for both improving the quality of education and the process of integration into the international educational and scientific space.

According to Professor Rusudan Kutateladze, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University, this year marks 36 years of successful cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the German Saarland University of Technology and Economics - “This is a period that has left a significant mark on the academic, scientific and cultural relations of both universities,” Rusudan Kutateladze noted.

“The partnership between the Georgian Technical University and the Saarland University of Technology and Economics is a clear example of how international cooperation can enrich the academic space and create new opportunities for students. For 36 years, we have jointly developed several successful projects, raised generations of professional specialists and researchers who today establish international education standards in their countries. The next stage of our partnership aims to further deepen the existing collaboration - enrich it with new research directions, innovative ideas, and, of course, common goals aimed at the development of knowledge, progress, and society,” said Rusudan Kutateladze.

The series of events dedicated to the 36th anniversary of cooperation with the Saarland University of Technology and Economics opened with two public lectures. Professor of the Faculty of Business Technologies, Tina Iashvili, presented a public lecture to the audience on the topic: “Economic Transformation of Georgia”, and Professor Anzor Abralava - on the topic: “A Brief Historical Perspective of Georgian-German Relations”.

The series of events dedicated to the 36th anniversary of the partnership between Georgian and German universities will continue until November 16th of this year. In addition, the delegation of the Saarland University of Technology and Economics will participate in the XIX International Scientific Conference “Government and Society - 2025”, organized by the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Saarland University of Technology on November 13th.
