“The long-term fruitful cooperation with the Saarland University of Technology and Economics, which has been going on for 36 years, is of particular importance for the Georgian Technical University. It is noteworthy that the famous city of Saarland, Saarbrücken, has been a sister city of Tbilisi for many decades. The relationship between our universities is one of the outstanding examples of international partnership in the field of higher education, which is based not only on formal agreements, but also on a common vision - the idea of transforming education, science, and innovation into a single ecosystem. This cooperation has made a significant contribution to the modernization of our university’s educational programs, the internationalization of the educational process, and the creation of an environment in which students become active participants in the process of creating new knowledge. The importance of the students’ active involvement and young scientists in university processes should be especially noted. This generation is already creating a new space of science today and will be considered a leading force in the direction of technological progress in the future. We see a future where the Georgian Technical University and the Saarland University of Technology and Economics will continue effective cooperation not only in a bilateral format, but also within a wide international network - in the areas of innovative research centers, joint master’s and doctoral programs, green energy, and digital transformation. Our partnership once again confirms that sharing knowledge and scientific dialogue is an integral part of the university’s mission, which gives us the opportunity, along with professionalism, to strengthen social responsibility and creative skills in young people. The Georgian Technical University highly appreciates its long-standing relationship with the Saarland University of Technology and Economics. We are confident that our cooperation will continue to be a solid foundation for the development, progress, and friendship of both sides in the future,” said David Gurgenidze.

As the head of the Saarland University of Technology and Economics delegation, Professor Wilhelm Hauser noted that scientists and students from the German university are ready to continue joint scientific projects, student internships, and the development of innovative technological platforms in the coming years.

Public lectures, joint scientific seminars, presentations of student projects, and cultural programs will be held within the framework of the cycle of events, which aim to further deepen the partnership and develop new initiatives in the fields of engineering, economics, and technology. In addition, the delegation of the Saarland University of Technology and Economics will participate in the XIX International Scientific Conference “Government and Society – 2025” organized by the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University on November 13th, and will also get acquainted with the activities of partner organizations and partner industrial companies of the Georgian Technical University.
