GTU Vice-Rector Meets with Delegation from Karshi State Technical University (Uzbekistan)
Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Lominadze, met with a delegation from Karshi State Technical University (Republic of Uzbekistan), who are on a working visit to Georgia, and discussed the possibilities of deepening scientific and academic collaboration between the two universities.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed this year, a 30-member delegation from the Uzbek University visited the Georgian Technical University for professional development and internship purposes.

The meeting with representatives of Karshi State Technical University, which was opened by the Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Lominadze, attended the deputy deans, professors and students of the faculties of Construction, Energy, Mining-Geology and Sustainable Mountain Development, Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Technologies, Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Informatics and Control Systems and Business Technologies of the GTU, as well as the head and employees of the GTU Department of International Relations.

Tamar Lominadze conveyed the best wishes of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, to the guests and wished them fruitful cooperation with the Georgian Technical University on his behalf.

The Vice-Rector introduced the scientific achievements and research priorities of the Georgian Technical University to the Uzbek colleagues; spoke about the many years of successful collaboration of GTU scientists with leading universities and major scientific organizations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and their active involvement in global scientific experiments.

According to Tamar Lominadze, the development of joint research initiatives will contribute to the establishment of a long-term partnership between the Georgian Technical University and Karshi State Technical University, strengthen the educational and scientific activities of higher education institutions of both countries, and provide new opportunities for students, teachers, and researchers of both universities.

As the Vice-Rector noted, the academic and scientific circles of the Georgian Technical University will familiarize their Uzbek colleagues with the educational and scientific processes taking place at seven faculties of the GTU, modern research methods, involve them in laboratory, theoretical, and practical work, moderate meetings with students and researchers, and introduce the achievements of GTU scientists and students. In turn, representatives of the Uzbek university will share with their Georgian colleagues the academic and research experience, as well as the scientific success of the Karsh State Technical University.

At the end of the meeting, the parties developed an action plan for expanding the partnership and exchanged views on new opportunities for cooperation.
