On October 2-4, the Japan-Georgia-Europe International Workshop on “Physics and Technologies of Laser-Induced Plasma for Green Energy and Biomedical Applications” (“Laser Plasma Applications - Tbilisi 2025”) will be held at the Georgian Technical University.

The workshop is supported by the Georgian Technical University (www.gtu.ge), the Japanese side of the International Science and Technology Center (www.istc.int), the Embassy of Japan in Tbilisi, and the European Union COST Program Project “Proton-Boron Nuclear Fusion”.

The goal of the workshop, with the participation and coordination of Georgian scientists, is to bring together leading, world-renowned scientists from Japan and Europe to discuss the main issues of conducting laser-induced processes, their various applications, such as nuclear synthesis, fabrication of nano-pico structures, regulation of biological processes, and various directions.

Within the framework of the event, it is planned to create East-West partnership groups for the joint implementation of programs and projects organized by the European Union and other countries.

The workshop will be attended by well-known scientists from Japan, France, Italy, Germany, and the USA, who are leaders of large international scientific and technological projects, as well as several international-level reports by Georgian scientists.

In addition, another goal of the workshop is to actively involve Georgian scientists in solving the human problems that American, Japanese, French, Italian, and German colleagues are working on.

We hope that the ideas formed as a result of the discussions at the workshop will create appropriate synergy between different fields of science and technology to achieve the main goals of the future - the creation of highly efficient sources of green energy through laser-induced new nuclear processes and nano-picotechnologies, and the development of new methods and tools in modern medical physics.

Japan-Georgia-Europe Workshop - New Advances in Laser Physics and Technology for Green Energy and Biomedical Applications is the first in a series of conferences planned for the future, related to advanced methods and technologies of modern nuclear and laser physics and techniques and their applications.

The idea of holding the workshop was formed in November 2024, when scientists from the Georgian Technical University participated in the Osaka International Exhibition, at the invitation and support of the Japanese side, where they demonstrated their developments in the field of laser physics and technology in a special exhibition space.
