“I see young people here who have already planned their future. It is essential to begin this path now, in an environment where your interests evolve into in-depth knowledge, practical experience, and success. Georgian Technical University offers such opportunities. Your visit is a great honor and responsibility for us. As you consider your professional path, know that the University is ready to support your development,” said Professor Tamar Tsereteli, Vice-Rector of Georgian Technical University, to the graduating pupils visiting the university.

Georgian Technical University remains committed to supporting the education and professional development of the next generation.

The Career Development Department, in collaboration with the “Civil Society and Media Development Institute and Akhaldaba Media Cafe “Lutrezi”, organized a student visit from Akhaldaba schools in Borjomi Municipality. This project was funded by the “Tasso Foundation.”

The Vice-Rector of GTU stated that the primary goal of the event was to inform students about the university’s educational programs and the unique characteristics of its faculties. Professor Tamar Tsereteli added that such events are regularly organized at the GTU to promote STEM fields among young people and encourage the education of future specialists.

“It is especially important for us to demonstrate to young people the diverse opportunities available at Georgian Technical University. Students were able to familiarize themselves with the details of the academic programs and faculties offered by the university. Furthermore, GTU enables future generations to participate in international exchange programs and collaborate with students and academic communities from around the world—an essential factor for success. Direct interaction with students and their active engagement in university activities—such as laboratory visits, discussions with professors, observing student projects, and experiencing modern technologies—provides a genuine understanding of the environment they may enjoy as future students. One of the greatest strengths of Georgian Technical University is that our graduates are recognized as highly qualified specialists both in Georgia and internationally. Today, many of our alumni are employed by leading technology companies worldwide. I would like to express my gratitude to the university’s career development department, “The Civil Society and Media Development Center Institute”, Akhaldaba Media Cafe “Lutrez”, and “Fund Tasso” for organizing this event,” said Professor Tamar Tsereteli.

According to Nato Katamadze, Head of the GTU Career Development Department, the schoolchildren toured the university’s modern research laboratories and technical infrastructure, and learned about ongoing scientific projects and innovative technologies.

According to Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, introductory events help young people correctly identify their interests, skills, and goals.

“The Georgian Technical University is distinguished by the fact that, along with high-quality education, it offers young people close ties with the government and private sectors operating in the field. The university has a career development department that actively works to connect students with the entrepreneurial sector, engineering companies, technology startups, and state structures. Our students begin internships in partner organizations in their early years and often continue working there, already with the status of graduates. We also operate a professional development center, where trainings, seminars, career forums, individual consultations, and many other events are held, which help students in personal development and realize their own abilities,” says Nato Katamadze.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Rector presented the school students with memorable gifts.
