An open informational meeting on international funding opportunities for scientific projects was held at the Georgian Technical University, organized by the Technology and Grant Projects Office, for scientists, doctoral students, and young researchers from the university faculties and scientific research institutes.
At the information meeting, Giorgi Mikiashvili, Head of the University Office for Technology and Grant Projects, provided researchers with comprehensive information about grant funding opportunities under the European Union’s Research and Innovation Framework Program HORIZON EUROPE and the European Union’s Education, Youth, and Sport Program - ERASMUS+, current and planned grant competitions, and news in grant areas.
According to Giorgi Mikiashvili, the flexible format of the open information meetings of the Technology and Grant Projects Office helps university scientists in research development, which includes obtaining funding opportunities, as well as developing grant proposals across the university, and coordinating the management of already funded projects.
At the meeting, Giorgi Mikiashvili also focused on the conditions and schemes for funding research projects.
Luka Kemoklidze, Deputy Head of the Horizon Europe National Office in Georgia, participated in the information meeting, provided consultations with university scientists, and answered their questions.
As Giorgi Mikiashvili noted at the end of the meeting, Ana Tkemaladze, an employee of the University Office of Technologies and Grant Projects, will provide effective assistance to university scientists in preparing grant proposals related to grant funding.
The University Office of Technologies and Grant Projects regularly holds open information meetings to introduce and popularize the culture of grant activities among the academic and scientific staff of the Georgian Technical University, as well as students, maximizing the involvement of employees in it and supporting the development and implementation of a wide range of research programs.
