“Since its establishment, the faculty has played an important role in training highly qualified specialists who actively and fruitfully work in Georgia and abroad. It is worth noting that the fields of mining and geology, as well as all the programs that students of the Georgian Technical University undergo during their studies, are not just academic fields but also strategically important directions through which our country develops its industrial potential, protects the natural environment and gains a place in the global arena. In this process, the training of professionals is crucial - people with in-depth knowledge and high responsibility. The Georgian Technical University and the Faculty of Mining Geology have a major part in implementing this task. We attach great importance to cooperation with one of the world’s leading universities in mining sciences, the University of Leoben. The goal of our partnership is not only to exchange knowledge but also to promote innovation, conduct joint research, and facilitate the mobility of students and academic staff. Such cooperation leads to educational progress and real social and economic changes. I would like to emphasize our partner company. I want to take this opportunity and again thank “RMG” which actively supports the faculty. “RMG” is one of the leading private sector companies that has established scholarships for successful students and is the main partner of the faculty in the employment of our graduates,” said Zurab Gudavadze.

The Rector of the Leoben Mining University, Professor Peter Moser, thanked the administration of the Georgian Technical University, the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and the faculty representatives for their warm hospitality.

As Peter Moser noted, within the framework of future cooperation with the Georgian Technical University they plan many interesting events.
