According to the head of the GTU Department of Viticulture and Enology of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering, representatives of the private and government sectors of viticulture and enology make a special contribution to the training of professional personnel.

As Professor Nino Chkhartishvili states, the goal of field practice for students is to improve practical viticulture skills, gain first-hand knowledge of the working environment and conditions, and provide practical training in vineyard care, cultivation, pruning, and modern methods of seedling production.

“The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering pays special attention to field and industrial practices. The vineyard is the place where the birth of wine begins. Students, within the framework of the training courses provided by the program, undergo field and industrial practices in various wine enterprises to deepen their theoretical knowledge and develop skills. Industrial practice is the best example of a partnership between the university space and the private sector. I would like to express my special gratitude to the company “Mtevino”, which is actively involved in the formation of our students as professional winegrowers and winemakers, helping them to acquire and master the necessary professional skills that Georgian viticulture and winemaking needs,” says Nino Chkhartishvili.

According to the company “Mtevino” director, the Georgian Technical University has been cooperating with the company for many years.

“Within the framework of the long-term cooperation with the Georgian Technical University, not only field and industrial practices are carried out, but also practical public lectures are held for students, and joint events are planned. The company expresses its readiness to participate in the formation of qualified young specialists and improving their professional skills,” notes the company director - Nikoloz Zautashvili.
