According to the Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, the cooperation between the two higher education institutions includes joint educational and research activities, and exchange programs for students, scientists, and professors.

“The Uzbek University is interested in cooperating with our university in agricultural educational programs and research areas. The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering at the Georgian Technical University was established in 2013, and today implements educational programs of all three levels in the direction of agricultural engineering and agricultural technologies. This is one of the successful faculty, where, due to state interest, bachelor’s programs in agricultural technologies, viticulture and enology, animal husbandry, soil and water resources engineering, food technology, forestry, agronomy, and agricultural engineering are fully funded by the state. The faculty in operates three, two-degree programs, and the courses are taught by Georgian professors and teachers with French colleagues.

After completing the educational process, students receive a diploma from two universities - the French University of Rennes 1 and the University of GTU. The faculty operates a dual-degree bachelor's program in viticulture and enology with Milan University. The master's program of viticulture and enology has become a member of the European analogous of the EMAVE consortium’s master program. The faculty is equipped with 32 modern educational and scientific laboratories and 28 auditoriums according to international requirements. Both Georgian-language and English-language educational programs are implemented here. Eight bachelor’s programs are fully funded by the state. The faculty, with the participation of the Georgian Technical University and the French University of Rennes 1 (Universite de RENNES 1), implements a dual-degree bachelor’s program - production management in the dairy industry. This year, we also awarded the 2023-2024 graduates of the Bachelor’s Program in Food Technology with their diplomas from Rennes 1 University.

The field for the development in which the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University trains professional staff is one of the important ones, therefore, the government pays great attention to the processes taking place at the faculty. I think the cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the Tashkent State Agrarian University will be fruitful, especially since the Uzbek university has been training qualified personnel in the agricultural direction for 95 years,” said Tamar Tsereteli.

Within the framework of the memorandum, the professors and teachers of the Technical University and those students who study agricultural sciences will be given a multifaceted opportunity to cooperate in the field of education in Uzbekistan shortly. The cooperation includes not only educational but also research processes.
