GTU Rector Awards Six Professors with Gold Medals
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, based on the decision of the GTU Academic Council, awarded the following awards to Professor Lena Shatakishvili, former Dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Georgian Technical University, expert in transient hydraulic processes in the pressure systems of hydroelectric power plants, hydropower calculations, hydroecology, technical condition of hydroelectric power plants, as well as main pipelines and their reliable and efficient operation, durability and energy saving, author of more than 70 scientific papers and 7 textbooks; Professor Rusudan Kutateladze, former Dean of the Faculty of Business Technologies, author of 159 scientific papers, including 7 monographs, 8 textbooks, full member of the New York Academy of Sciences; Former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences, author of more than 40 articles and 5 textbooks, Professor Ivane Jagodnishvili; Former Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, author of more than 100 papers and 5 textbooks, Professor Anzor Abshilava; Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design, author of more than 20 architectural projects, more than 60 scientific articles, one monograph and 9 methodological guidelines, Professor Nino Imnadze and Professor of the Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences, author of more than 100 scientific papers and 6 textbooks, Vano Chiaureli, for their exceptional contribution to the university, awarded with the Golden Medal of the Georgian Technical University.

The Rector of the Georgian Technical University awarded the “Gold Medal” to Lena Shatakishvili, Rusudan Kutateladze, and Ivane Jagodnishvili at the Academic Council meeting.

As Academician David Gurgenidze noted in his speech, they have raised several worthy generations and made a great contribution to the successful activities of the Georgian Technical University.

“Considering the merits of Lena Shatakishvili, Rusudan Kutateladze, Nino Imnadze, Ivane Jagodnishvili, Anzor Abshilava, and Vano Chiaureli to the university, the Academic Council decided to award the university highest award - the Gold Medal - to the distinguished teacher and scientist. On behalf of the university community, I congratulate our colleagues on this honorary award and wish them success in their scientific and pedagogical activities for the benefit of their native university and the country,” the GTU Rector noted in his speech.

For information: The award “Gold Medal”, established by the decision of the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University, is awarded to Georgian and foreign scientists for their outstanding contribution to the university. The award and the corresponding certificate are presented solemnly to the recipient by the Rector of the Georgian Technical University.
