The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, expresses his condolences to the family, colleagues, and the Faculty of Business Technologies over the death of the researcher and teacher, Professor Sophio Bliadze.
“Professor of the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University, recipient of the Medal of Honor for her exceptional contribution to the revival of Georgia and worthy service, and second-degree Presidential Scholar for Young Scientists in 2003-2006, Sophio Bliadze, passed away at the age of 49.
An extraordinary person and an excellent teacher, this is how Sophio Bliadze, a colleague who, despite her short life, raised many generations of famous and successful specialists and established the name of a scientist and researcher endowed with special skills, will remain in our memory.
We express our condolences to our colleague, Professor of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Murman Bliadze, on the death of his daughter. We express our condolences to Sophio Bliadze’s spouse, four children, grandchildren, relatives, colleagues, and students. May the Lord grant her soul in the Kingdom of Heaven,” the rector, David Gurgenidze, stated in his condolence letter.
For information, Sophio Bliadze, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University, is a graduate of Gori State University with a degree in “Finance and Credit”. She successfully defended her PhD thesis in 2002.
From 2002 to 2007, she was the dean of the humanitarian faculty of the Borjomi branch of Gori State University and the branch director. In different years, she worked at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi Pedagogical University, and David Agmashenebeli University, and from 2009 to the present, she has been an Associate Professor at the Georgian Technical University.
